<![CDATA[Official Website of Rathgarogue Cushinstown GAA Club - News]]>Fri, 25 May 2012 09:27:41 +0000Weebly<![CDATA[Under 10s win Mini All-Ireland]]>Tue, 22 May 2012 20:36:40 +0000http://www.cushinstowngaa.com/1/post/2012/05/under-10s-win-mini-all-ireland.htmlThe Under 10s capped off a busy week by winning the final of the football Mini All-Ireland on Saturday (19th of May).  Having overcome St Martins in a very close semi-final on Tuesday, they faced Gusserane in the decider.  A fine team performance lead to the Under 10s emerging as champions on a 5-09 to 1-08 scoreline. 33 teams started the competition, which was organised and hosted by St John’s Volunteers in Wexford Town. Congratulations to the team and their mentors, Anthony Dillion and Declan Davitt. Photos of the action can be found on the Gallery page.

]]><![CDATA[U10 Footballers reach Final]]>Thu, 17 May 2012 23:55:45 +0000http://www.cushinstowngaa.com/1/post/2012/05/u10-footballers-reach-final.htmlGood luck to the Under 10 Football team in the final of the Mini All-Ireland competition this Saturday.  The boys reached the final after overcoming St Martins in the semi final in a close fought game on Tuesday night.  The Mini All-Ireland is an annual competition organised by St Johns Volunteers.  Throw in for the final is 3pm.

]]><![CDATA[Under 10 Caulfield League]]>Tue, 24 Apr 2012 22:59:45 +0000http://www.cushinstowngaa.com/1/post/2012/04/under-10-caulfield-league.htmlThe Under 10 hurlers got their season underway on Saturday with a hurling blitz in New Ross.  The blitz was designed to grade teams for the forthcoming Caulfield League.  The boys acquitted themselves well, losing very narrowly to The Rower/Insitioge and recording wins against both Tullogher and Adamstown.  The Caulfield League proper will start in May.

In their first game we started well but some poor second half play resulted in  a defeat to Geraldine O Hanrahans on a score of 4-1 to 1-2. In our second game we defeated Horeswood by 4-2 to 0-0 and completed the day by losing out to Taghmon on a 1-4 to 0-1 scoreline.

In our first football game of the season we played local rivals Geraldine O Hanrahans. We dominated the first half to lead by 10 points but allowed Ross in for a few late scores to cause a few nervous moments near the end of the game. We were able to hold out for a 3-10 to 3-7 victory.

It is hoped that we will improve on these performances by regular training and all players are encouraged to attend all training and games.

]]><![CDATA[Under 8 Training]]>Tue, 03 Apr 2012 16:02:15 +0000http://www.cushinstowngaa.com/1/post/2012/04/under-8-training.htmlHurling and football training resumed last night (Monday night) for Under 8s, 7s and 6s in Cushinstown.  Approximately 60 kids were in attendance.  Training continues for the summer on Monday nights at 6.30pm.  Parents are reminded to bring helmets and to register their children asap.  Registration form can be found on the Child Welfare page under the Coiste na nÓg menu. A birth cert is also required for every child that is being registered for the first time.  Under age registration for 2012 is €15 for players born in 2004 or later and €30 for players born in 2003 or earlier.
